5 days gorilla trekking and gorilla habituation in Rushaga sector A 5 days safari will take you to the south western part of Uganda to visit the most incredible park called Bwindi impenetrable national park to have a close encounter and learn the social ethics of the beautiful endangered Mt gorillas, visit one of the beautiful lakes with stunning views called Lake Mutanda and visit one of the happiest communities with the best cultural experiences called Batwa community. Itinerary overview: Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable national park Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi in the Rushaga sector Day 3: Lake Mutanda visit Day 4: Gorilla habituation in Rushaga sector Day 5: Batwa cultural experience then departure Detailed itinerary: Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable national park Upon arrival, you will be picked up by an English-speaking driver guide who will take you through the details of the entire trip with a mini briefing. Then you will continue with your scenic drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park that normally takes 4-6 hours. A stop over will be made at the equator to see the different handmade crafts and have free photography. Lunch enroute as you proceed to the destination, on arrival, you will check in at your lodge. Dinner will be served at the lodge Overnight: Rushaga gorilla havens lodge Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi in the Rushaga sector After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by your English-speaking driver guide who will take you to the Rushaga headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Briefing normally starts at 7:00am accompanied with park guides, rangers, trackers and porters that assist in anything. The trek normally takes 1-3 hours depending on the allocation of gorillas, interest and your physical fitness with your packed lunch and water. When you find the gorillas, your given one exclusive hour to spend with the gorillas with free room for photography and viewing on how they behave then later return to the starting point. Dinner at the lodge Overnight: Rushaga gorilla havens lodge Day 3: Lake Mutanda visit After an early morning breakfast, your English-speaking driver guide will pick you up for your visit to lake mutanda which normally takes 2 hours. The freshness of the lake and the beauty of the sunset creates a memorable experience for the magnificent ride. During the drive, you get a chance of viewing the Virunga ranges which are simply stunning. After the visit, relaxation then drive back to the lodge. Dinner at the lodge Overnight: Rushaga gorilla havens lodge Day 4: Gorilla habituation in Rushaga sector After an early morning breakfast, your English-speaking driver guide will pick you up to the Rushaga headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts about gorilla habituation with your packed lunch. Gorilla habituation is the process of introducing the beautiful endangered Mt gorillas to human presence. The habituation process normally takes 4 hours with a limit of 4 tourists accompanied with park guides, rangers and porters. The unique opportunity gives you a chance to spend quality time observing the Mt gorillas in their natural habitat, learn their behaviors, see their reaction to human presence, play around and feed them. After the experience you will drive back to the lodges. Dinner at the lodge Overnight: Rushaga gorilla havens lodge Day 5: Batwa cultural experience then departure After an early morning breakfast, tourists will have their breakfast then check out of the lodges. after checking out they will drive to the Batwa community to have a lifetime experience with the local people in a small village full of amusements about their cultures. These showcase their dancing, singing, making fire and making of the sisal crafts with the local women.
