DAY 1. BRIEFING FROM THE GUIDES AND SET OFF FROM THE BASECAMP 1450M TREK TO SINE CAMP 2596M (9.5 KM, APPROX 5 - 7 HR).
DAY 2. TREK TO MUTINDA CAMP 3588M VIA KAMUSONI VALLEY (8 KM, APPROX 4 - 5 HRS).
DAY 3. TREK TO BUGATA CAMP 4100M (CAMP 3) (5 KM, APPROX 3 - 4 HRS.).
DAY 4. TREK TO BUTAWU CAMP 3974M (CAMP 4) VIA BAMWANJARA PASS (6KM, APPROX 5 - 7 HRS).
DAY 5. VIA SCOTT ELLIOTT PASS TO MARGHERITA CAMP 4485M (CAMP 5) (4KM, APPROX 3 - 5 HRS)
DAY 6. SUMMIT MARGHERITA PEAK 5109M, DESCEND TO BUTAWU CAMP (7KM, APPROX 8 - 10 HRS)
DAY 7. DESCEND TO BUGATA CAMP 4100M (CAMP 3) (6 KM, APPROX 5 - 6 HRS)
DAY 8. DESCEND TO KIHARO CAMP 3430M (7 KM, APPROX 4 - 6 HRS).
DAY 9. DESCEND TO SAMALIRA CAMP 3170M (7.5 KM, 4 - 6 HRS).
DAY 10 DESCEND DOWN TO THE BASE CAMP DEBRIEF.
Our 10days trek to Margherita peak. $1854 hiking fees + $40 per day park entrance fees (paid separately at the gates of the national park) per person.

For all treks summiting Magherita peak, we will provide:-
Harnesses,caribinas, ice axes, helmets,rubber boot (are a must have), ropes and ice screws as part of the hiking package apart from crampons which clients are supposed to carry themselves. The rest of the equipment must be carried by all hikers as we have not much for hire.
Trekking up the highest point in the Rwenzoris which is Margherita peak is tough and challenging due the melting ice on top and exposed slippery rocks mainly at the final summit day. (the climate change has definately affected the mountains as well) ,
climbing the Peak is now technical due to the ever increasing number of crevasses and exposed slippery rocks making the summitng more difficult than what it was before. However final ascent to the actual peak is more of a hard scramble than a climb and snowing makes it harder as it is thin ice.
Though with all that said, the rewards and exhilaration of reaching the top peaks is next to none and our trained competent guides will guide you safely to Magherita peak. Just to emphasize summting Magherita peak will require lots of fitness and atleast an attempt to one high altitude mountain before choosing this trek.
Rwenzoris mountains are of there own kind and we really advise all our clients to be fit and ready for the trek. Please note that one should have technical climbing experience. i.e Knowledge of ropes and use of crampons,Ascenders and figure 8s to belay and knowledge of how to use an ice axe is advisable as there are sections of 60%steepness and changing rapidly.
Our summits to Magherita peak can depart all year round, though like any other mountains Rwenzori Mountains has seasons.
Apparently Dec-Mar is dry and very busy month of the year, April -June which is our low season months and very wet season, then it shines again from July-Sept which is as well extremely busy and then Wet again from October-Nov. Most clients often choose the dry season as any one would imagine so because of all its advantages, though the wet season also can be spectacular in its own way, as it comes with new flowers, Snow as low as 4000m on the foliage and rocks giving you extremely lovely snowy views.
Just to add Rwenzori mountains have got a tropical rain forest characterized with receiving rain throughout the year hence at times with the changing seasons the weather can be unpredictable.
