Pick-Up: Depart from Kigali with a knowledgeable driver-guide. Canopy Walk: Enjoy a guided 2-hour walk at Uwinka Reception Center, where you’ll be equipped with walking sticks and boots. Wildlife & Scenic Views: Learn about the rich biodiversity of Nyungwe, from colorful birds and butterflies to primates and even sightings of duikers and golden cats. Return: After an energizing adventure and a delicious lunch, transfer back to Kigali.

Morning Departure from Kigali:
After an early breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up from Kigali and drive you to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, enjoy the scenic Rwandan countryside as you anticipate your adventure. At Uwinka Reception Center: Upon arrival at Nyungwe, you’ll receive a briefing about the canopy walk and be assigned a friendly walking guide. Purchase your walking sticks and boots if needed, and prepare for a 2-hour guided trek above the forest floor.
The Canopy Walk Experience:
Walk among the treetops on a suspended bridge that offers panoramic views of the East African landscape, including Lake Kivu and the diverse sections of Nyungwe Forest. As you stroll along the canopy, your guide will share fascinating insights about the endemic species, ranging from: Primates: Black and white colobus, Angola colobus, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, and agile chimpanzees. Birds & Butterflies: Marvel at the colorful array of birds such as the black-casqued hornbill, while delicate butterflies and orchids add to the forest’s charm.
